The
Design
Tell me
your ideas on what you want your new speedo face to look like
and I will design it to your specifications. You can send
me artwork, and/or pictures that you would like to be included
and I will incorporate them. When you are describing your
ideas to me, keep in mind that the more detail you provide,
the easier and faster it will be to create your new Custom
Speedo Face exactly how you want it.
Do
I make Speedo Faces for other makes and models of bikes?
How about cars?
Well, the
short answer is "most likely". As of today, the
Yamaha Star line of motorcycles are the only ones that I can
definitely make Custom Speedo Faces for. If you have any other
type of bike and are interested in a Custom Speedo Face, chances
are very good that I can make it for you. As long as you are
able to open the speedo housing and remove the existing face
and needles and scan the face, I can definitely make a Custom
Speedo face for you. If this is something you are interested
in, please burn a CD with the the scanned image of your existing
speedo face in either a .BMP or .TIF format in at
least 300 dpi resolution
and send me an e-mail to chopperwolf@gmail.com
and I will give you the shipping address to send it to.
Speedo
Faces for cars are a little more difficult due to the fact
that they are usually much longer than a standard sheet of
paper. If the gauge face on your car is smaller than a regular
sheet of paper (8 1/2 X 11), and as long as you are able to
remove it from your car and get a scanned image and send it
to me following the directions above, I can most likely make
one for you. Feel free to e-mail me if you are interested
and we can go from there.
Will
the Speedo face fade?
Sadly,
the short answer is "yes". Unfortunately all Inks
and pigments will fade after prolonged exposure to the sun.
This is unavoidable. There are ways to prolong the color of
your speedo face. Make sure to keep your bike garaged when
not riding it. Try to park in the shade whenever possible.
I have seen some UV blocking film that you could apply to
the underside of the glass of your speedometer housing.
I have
had several customers who have had te same speedo on their
bike for years without any visible fading. There have been
a few who did report that their speedo face did fade somewhat
after a year or so, but not very much. Unfortunately, I cannot
gaurentee against fading.
